Suzy Nelson

Attorney

Some of Suzy’s earliest memories involve helping people care for each other. As a minister’s daughter, Suzy grew up in an environment where helping others was the center of each day’s work. When she got her law degree, Suzy naturally turned to an area where she could bring both her passion for helping others and her love of technical detail to address real problems in peoples’ lives. Developing innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for the client’s future life and the lives of those they love is Suzy’s way of continuing the tradition in which she was raised.

Understanding the technical details of Probate and Estate law is critical, but it isn’t enough. Suzy understands that an attorney who doesn’t listen to and understand her clients can’t be fully effective even though she possesses all of the analytical and technical skills. Thus, Suzy focuses first on the client: what they are saying, what they are feeling, their joys, and their fears. Only after understanding the client does Suzy bring a wealth of legal experience, her ongoing training, and her sharp analytical mind to bear in crafting solutions.

Suzy graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia Law School and is a licensed attorney in Colorado and Missouri.

A Missouri native, Suzy attended Westminister College, earning a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy with minors in English and French.

After graduation from law school, she worked as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Missouri, Southern District Court of Appeals. She then served as a St. Louis County Assistant Counselor. Moving to Colorado, Suzy joined a law firm specializing in estate planning before founding Suzy Nelson Law, LLC.
